We have a few women bush pilots up here, it still remains a male oriented world though.

Gillian Everett, Gary Schotel, Liliane LR, and 18 other people have particularly liked this photo

My Dad was a pilot, I grew up in a small airport.. the day I saw his place crash I lost interest! He wasn't flying it and the guy that was survived. All my brothers have their licenses, they don't fly much these days and that's tough for my little brother because he and I are both colour blind.

thank you Wierd, it needed something, it was dusky when I took the picture so the details just faded into the background

There's two manly passion meeting: interest on all kinds of machines and navigation with maps ;-)

And there are plenty of studies made on this. For example the followings:

On one study a group of monkeys that had been grown in wild, with no influence to Homo Sapiens, were shown two kinds of items: toy cars and human dolls. Mostly men monkeys started to examine toy cars, rolling the wheels etc. Female monkeys picked dolls and started to examine them.

Another study proves male brain structure differs from female. On male the nerves system has been oriented on signals going between forehead and back of the brains, and this may explain why men are, if not better, but more interested on navigation and finding locations. Female then have more signals going between the both sides of brains, which then explains the capability for multitasking.

I was amazed at the number of pontoon planes that I saw up in your neck of the woods. They are rare where I live. I've flown in one once. I had a great time, but I don't think that I will ever do it again. Hitting small waves while landing was something else.
