I don't know much about their required growing conditions Bev but these were doing well beneath a newish hedgerow, they might also like the chalky soil in this area.

Mmm I think our soil is quite acidic ... not sure if thats the right word ... but I know
the azaelia plants need the proper compost ... they do not survive in our soil ...
(spelt the name wrong but you know what I mean ;-) .... so I think our soil is the
problem ... I buy them from the garden centres ... but they fail miserably !
