Wheels in the garden.

The Natural World.

Pictures that could be taken anywhere. I like to take pictures of the detail of nature, and that's what is mostly in this album.

Oak Leaf

03 Nov 2013 3 2 352
I love it when shafts of sunlight break through the dense canopy of trees in the Loamhole Dingle, tiny areas become a blaze of colour and contrast. I took a bunch of lenses out today, all M42 stuff, and I think the best pictures came from the old faithful Helios 44-2. Sony NEX5 Helios 44-2 55 / 2

Horizontal

The leaf was just about horizontal, and for a brief moment to wind died down and it stopped fluttering. I took a bunch of lenses out today, all M42 stuff, and I think the best pictures came from the old faithful Helios 44-2. Sony NEX5 Helios 44-2 55 / 2

The Lydebrook

Close to its source near Little Wenlock the Lydebrook has what is apparently Telford's only waterfall. It's not a huge one by any standards, but it is very beautiful and well hidden deep in the woods. The waterfall is over the edge in this picture and probably about 40 feet high to the river below. It's just about impossible to get to a good vantage point to see the waterfall because there are so many fallen trees on the steep side of the dingle, but I will get there! Autumn

Taken wide open with a Clubman 24 / 2.8 Macro lens. This lens is probably made by Ensinor and can be found branded as Tefnon and Cosina among other names. It was a cheap and cheerful lens rebadged and sold by many outlets. But it's a very good lens, well worth looking out for. Sony NEX5 Clubman 24 / 2.8 Macro

Patterns of the wind

On a beach, Prince Edward Island. Another picture I liked, but it needed a bit of work. Sony NEX5 SMC Takumar 28 / 3.5

Red Dragonfly.

23 Oct 2013 2 2 244
The sun came out and the dragonflies came out as well. I spotted this one and just reached out without focusing or checking exposure and took the shot at arms length, it was pin sharp, the Carl Zeiss Jena 50 / 2.8 ( Zebra version ) showed me just how sharp it can be. I have adjusted levels and colours slightly but this is unsharpened. Sony NEX5 Carl Zeiss Jena 50 / 2.8

I have a lot of pictures taken in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, Canada, so I shall post them in batches. I think I shall make the first batch pictures of the natural beauty of this wonderful country. It was early fall so the trees were turning to their spectacular colours, making this beautiful landscape a riot of colour. I shall try to identify the actual places later, I'll just start with the pictures straight from the camera. Most were taken with Takumar's, either the 28 / 3.5 or the 55 / 1.8, or my Vivitar Series 1 70-210 / 2.8 - 4. All pictures copyright to David Lloyd.
