Wrekin Panorama
I took a few panoramas today and did them properly, using a tripod and rotating the camera around the nodal point of the lens, which is much better than waving the camera around at random!
I stitched the images using the 'Circular' option in Photomerge and the final image is as true as possible.
The mast on the Wrekin summit is a shade under 2 miles away and viewed at 100% a walker is clearly visible.
This is 23 images stitched together and printed at 100% would be 12 feet x 2 feet

The special pano heads are expensive, a long focusing rail is what I use, and that can be used for macro work as well. It's more useful than a pano head which just does one function. When using shorter lenses I use an old Gitzo offset ball head and turn the support around.
