That Ivory Flakes box is pretty cool!
My mom had some of the same Easter decorations. I remember them, as a kid.

Yeah, the Ivory Flakes box is pretty old. It's a sample size and has never been opened!

The thrifting gods with were with you today! I found some incredibly cool stuff at the Urban Flea Market (a once a month event in SLC) today. I'll post pictures soon!

Ellie: Does the Urban Flea Market have stuff I would like? We've got a flea market in Boise and it's completely pathetic. I'd throw 95% of what they're trying to sell in the trash.

Allen, I'll bet you would love the SLC Urban Flea Market. Here are some things I have purchased there: www.ipernity.com/doc/309937/album/487363
I'm a bargain shopper; there was tons more; some sellers are ready to give a great deal; some extremely expensive, which I don't buy from. Last year I bought a box of 8 vintage yearbooks ranging from 1936-1953 (local high schools plus the University of Utah) and only paid $20 for the whole box!

I think I'll take September 6th and 9th off. That'll give me a full day to get there and I'll be able to hit the antique shops all day Saturday. I need a good road trip! Do you have any plans for that weekend?

No, other than going to the Flea market! It would be great to see you. I hope my favorite sellers are there. There's one booth that I really love. They were there in June, but not July; then again in August.

Are there any nice older motels still around? I thought about staying at the City Creek Inn.

Oh, so sad! The Scenic is gone too, of course. I don't know about any motels. The best ones are gone now; there are still some around, but I don't know which ones are considered to be seedy vs. nice. You might want to check the Peery Hotel or a Bed and Breakfast (I think some offer a single person rate). You will probably love the Capitol City Antique Mall. Have you been there? Let me know if you need me to check anything out locally.

I'm thinking of staying at Little America. They have pretty good reviews.

I don't think the Capitol City Antique Mall was there when I was in 2003.

Nice haul, Allen. I assume the 'Chicago Fair' would be the 1933 Century of Progress World's Fair.
