Bakery Chair

Bakery Chair
Needed chairs for my bakery for Lauren Land. While looking at Connie's pics of her chairs, pic 1. popped into my head. Her chair had wire but not like this.

Then I decided it as too much wood as I have limited supplies. So I changed the back design to pic 2.

Made the prototype chair with single wire. Pic 3 and 4. Found while it was strong enough for Barbie to sit, it was too bendy. Not happy.

Pic 5. Took the wire and twisted two equal sized pieces together to get it stronger. Placed two ends in a stationary mounted vice grip and two ends in my drill. Seconds was all it took. Yay!!

Pic 6. Comparing, not glued or painted yet. Was much stronger than the first.

Pic 7. Made a white one for Barbie's bedroom. Quite happy with it. =D Painting pink ones for the bakery. Bottom of pink chair shown. The back holes are right through but the front ones are not. Love them!

I do realise that I have a weakness for chairs. My dolls can never seem to have enough. =P

Thank you Karen! I started twisting it by hand and the hubby said why don't you put it in the vice grip to hold one end while you're twisting? Then I went "Ooooo! With the drill on the other side!!" He thought the drill might be too fast for it but it was perfect!! It took seconds what doing by hand would have taken ages with sore hands. I can still hear the drill going in short spurts. I did rows of wire in just a few minutes! It was sooo cool watching it twist. =D
