Oh, I didn't know the Finns speak Swedish aswell.... Finnish is almost unlearnable and if so it still is impossible to pronounce for a Dutchman, but Swedish is not really a problem.... (if they speak s-l-o-w-l-y I can even understand them a bit)

Yes, Finnish is hard to learn, but I've met few cases that had done that. We more related to Estonian language (lucky you to belong such popular language group ;) and we have only "loaned" words from other languages. But weirdly I've found out that learning Japanese is pretty easy for a Finnish speaking person

You have to love to read to trudge through all of that snow. I had no idea that there were two official languages.

Nice winter picture and night shot.
On a trip to Helsinki a few years ago, I took a ferry to Suomenlinna. On the ship, a saw two names: Suomenlinna and Sveaborg. I first thought that the ferry was going to two separate places, but I learned later that the second name was the same place, but in Swedish. That's the way I learned that there is two official languages in your country.

You're educating a whole lot of us here, I had no idea about Swedish being an official language of Finland. I love this shot, too :-)
