And Away....over Lake Garda

And Away....over Lake Garda
"Tandem Paragliding.....an excellent way to see the world from another perspective, or a wonderful gift idea.

Everyone has dreamed of flying at least once, and now it is possible in an easy, safe, fun and affordable way! Accompanied by our expert pilots, you will experience new and strong emotions you have never had before!"[website advert]

I don't doubt I would experience new and strong emotions and I shall not be putting it on my Christmas list. I do however take my hat off to those brave enough to try it!

Lorenzo Kjell Salmonson, Frank Roolooth, Eunice Perkins, Rambonp and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

I've always been leery of hang gliders, as I know too much about physic to trust them, but I might be willing to try this. It comes with the parachute pre-attached!

It's the crash landing that would worry me. Basically I'm chicken :-)

I'm with you here Doug............not a chance! I get dizzy standing on a chair to change a lightbulb!!

The photo however is superb...........the hang glider and pilot look so small against the sky, so there is a great sense of scale and height! Nicely composed and taken.

A friend once asked me if I would do a parachute jump with him. I said not likely, what if the chute didn't open? He said you had a reserve chute. I asked what if that failed too? He replied in that case you would get your money back. I never took up his invitation.

Thanks for your comments Keith.

It must surely be a form of madness to go up there in those fragile things, I won't be joining them but I envy the wonderful views and thrills they must have.
