Life ...

... goes on. An ancient oak in Richmond Park, broken but unbowed. The winter storms have wreaked havoc among the trees everywhere in these islands - but this magnificent tree will live on for perhaps even more centuries. This is a departure from my usual style - I hope you like it ! Texture from PicMonkey.

A photograph of me gazing in wonder at the mist covered mountain tops, taken by my lovely sister, Margaret. This was at Thirlmere, on the way home from our holiday in early September 2013. I was sort of saying "Goodbye" to the Lake District here... we both felt sad to leave.

Shadows of the evening

A reminder of finer weather for you all, especially those of you suffering from the floods in England - and in all parts of the world, or the extremes of heat or cold. May you soon be free from your suffering. I loved the sky here... so I took a picture! EXPLORED - apparently! How lovely - thank you very much!!

But such a lovely day, and such a beautiful place! The conifers were lovely in the early afternoon light.

Sunshine in the Lickeys

Such a lovely day today for a change! So off we went, our dog, Zak, and me, to the Lickey Hills in Worcestershire - barely 23 miles from home. I'm so glad we went, as it was beautiful there... the shadows were long, the sunshine glorious, although there was a bone-chilling wind. Half way through our walk, my camera battery ran out... doh!! I'd neglected to charge up even the spare battery, so I only took a few photographs, which means another visit, doesn't it - yippee!! :o) Hubby had gone off to the…

Reflections ...

... on the past year. 2013 has been full of ups and downs, light times and dark times. A very Happy 2014 to all my friends and contacts. A photo taken on Christmas Day, this year, at Little Bracebridge Pool, Sutton Park. The weather was so kind to us. Thank you all for your support and encouragement this year - may 2014 bring you happiness and love.
