French F2 Champion 2014

Rémy Guignard & Frédérique Poux not only won the F2 event but also clinched the F2 French title for this year. The sidecar competition is so small that they put the F2 bikes in with the F1 machines. The F2 is a 600cc engine. Rémy is so fast he came in ahead of two of the F1 bikes.... Rémy Guignard & Frédérique Poux at the TT in 2011. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLKvnbrONdg

Magny-Cours

Early morning at the circuit, not a soul to be seen.....

I'll have a 99 please

A 99 was an ice cream with a chocolate flake pushed into it, so most people outside of the UK wouldn't be familiar with the meaning of the title. This is a F1, a 750cc engine and is hot on the track!

Steve Hicks & François Chirpaz

A set of 3 from my visit to the motor racing Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours on the weekend 28/29th June 2014. I went to help and support my good friend Steve Hicks, a sidecar rider/driver.....

Sidecar passenger

The other half of the team is known as a 'passenger', an important member, and a good one is worth his/her weight in gold.....

Hail Storm

As with all outside events the weather can play a part in the outcome. During race 1 the sidecars were called into the pits due to severe weather approaching the circuit. The wind was gale force, the rain was heavy and the hail as big a marbles. Sadly, as the race had gone beyond the halfway point, the result stood from the previous lap.....

Steve Hicks, sidecar racer

A biker for over 30 years and still going strong, this time in France with a French racing license. People like Steve are the backbone of racing, they turn up time after time and work on a shoestring; he has one bike, one fairing, a couple of engines, no sponsor, but loads of passion.....

Superbikes

Gregory Leblanc, the winner of the Superbike event and the championship leader.....

Storm brewing

The weather was up and down, really hot but big storms. This one missed us, but we weren't so lucky later on.....
