Skye Bridge

Skye Bridge
Since October 1995, Skye has been linked to mainland Scotland by a bridge. Many disagreed with having a bridge, and others are of a mind that the bridge is a faster and more reliable way to cross to and from the Isle of Skye.

The Skye Bridge is actually two bridges, which use the six acre island of Eilean Bàn (White Island) as a stepping stone en route. The island was compulsorily purchased by the government to allow the bridge to be built. The lighthouse was automated in 1960, and was made redundant by lights placed on the bridge when it opened.

Thanks Phil, I have a series of these, all taken from a helicopter (perks of the old job) and I actually prefer them in B&W.
