I've waited a long time to be in a position to photograph these lovely birds and finally, after seeing a few zip by over the last few months, one sat still for a while.

Fortune always plays a part, it was getting decidedly murky and I was just about to leave when a Purple Heron showed up, so I stayed a while longer and a few minutes later the Kingfisher arrived. What an amazing feeling to see this little beauty close up.
