The Yanks are Coming
My great uncle William by marriage leaning over a pan at a camp fire somewhere here in the USA 1917 or 1918 (World War I)before they were shipped off to Europe. I have no idea where this Army training camp / cantonment is located. The rail car in the back ground is not much help it only shows that it is the property of the CB&Q Railroad (Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad) which operated in the Midwestern U. S. And NO.... I have no idea why the guy in the bottom of the picture is posing next to a skull and cross bones. Maybe it's the Units or platoons Mascot.
