Lolita - The Second

Lolita - The Second
During the first bloom Lolita had eight blossoms. Then the rose rust took over and I tried some special treatment. Now there were thirteen blossoms - and almost no rose rust. (It just starts again - unfortunately).

Pity about the rust....but this is a fine example of a perfect bloom, so at least you have had some joy.

Best wishes for this weekend. Autumn approaches, so make the most of these beauties...

Thank you Joan! :) It was a nice and relaxed weekend (working on a story for a birthday card) ;)
As to the rust - it was much worse before. After searching the internet for unchemical solutions there was a website that recommended Belladonna C200. I tried it and the result was (mostly) convincing. After the treatment two of the roses developed shiny leaves they didn't have before.

Beautiful! Looks like your diligence paid off in getting Lolita to bloom for you a second time. I gave up on roses because of the work involved.

Thanks a lot for all your lovely comments, Kathy! :) At the moment I don't have much time (just had to finish something). But will have a look at your site soon.
The roses had quite a tough time this year with all these extreme weather changes. Two roses still have problems - but the other four or five apparently responded to my homeopathy treatment. I just wanted to give it a try - and was myself somewhat astonished that it worked so well. The leaves of one of the roses have never been so shiny before.
