Sorry, not a good photo - unfortunately this guy decided to circle up higher and higher... Still, I was surprised that the photo helped me identify this bird. (Typical the white spots under its wings). -- And I was also astonished to find that this was a red kite / Roter Milan).

Buzzards and kites I have seen often, yes, but no red kites. So this was a nice surprise!
