Testing the Tamron 150-600

Testing the Tamron 150-600
Straight Out Of Camera (absolutely no edits done).

Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD on Canon EOS 5D Mk.III.

1/1000, f/7.1 @ 600mm ISO250 (in the sunset)

28th february 2016: Update on the Tamron 150-600mm:

DON'T BUY IT. What a piece of crap that thing is. I had it one week and the autofocus collapsed. I had it repaired under warranty and we are now 7 months further in time (without using the lens during winter).... autofocus collapsed for the second time.

I'm not going into the fuzz to have it repaired again and after short use seeing it collapse for the third time. I simply just put it in the bin. The best thing to do with it. It is a shame for the 950 euros I paid for it but this is absolutely the last Tamron-product I have ever bought.

Man, what a disappointment the 150-600 is....

Dat ziet er goed uit volgens mij, Chris. Goed in focus and scherp.

Very clear image, wish I'd taken this one....do you find the Tamron SP 150-600mm a good lens, as I've been looking at this for some time now..I use Nikon camera's..

Yes, I think it is a good lens (for its money). Of course it has some issues (see my comment here: www.flickr.com/photos/chris1971/18684592210/in/dateposted-public ) and if you compare it with high-end Nikon and Canon lenses then sure, the high-end ones are better, but they cost twice my car and this one is very affordable for what you get. I mean.... 600mm.... it is a lot and it doesn't even have that much vignette....

Well.... after less than one week of use the autofocus broke down. It is now in the repairshop. Under warrantee ofcourse, but still.... I'm already starting to regret that I bought the Tamron....

Shame about your lens but this is a fantastic picture.

Yesterday the AF collapsed for the second time.... I read users reviews on Flickr where some people state to have send it back 5 (!) times to repair the AF again.

so.... threw it in the bin. No use to irritate myself on that thing anymore. Now saving up for the Sigma equivalent.
