Color Wheel Project: Green
Week 5 of the Color Wheel project and the theme is green! This project is part of the ipernity group, "10-Week Picture Projects". We'd love you have you join us! Even if you missed the first weeks of Red, Pink, Orange, and Yellow, you can either skip them or upload those pictures too!
Since I am so crazy about nature, it should be no surprise to learn that green is my favorite color, so I had a wonderful time playing with my huge assortment of green beads. Many choices from tiny seed-beads to a few which were about 1" in diameter, it was fun experimenting to find out which beads really stood out.
This bead is a great example of why you should take pictures of a subject you're interested in but aren't sure about. I thought the white on this bead might be too overwhelming and I guessed it would blow out. However, the shape and pattern was really neat so I plunked the bead down and took one picture. Sure enough, a glimpse showed that the white blew out. I didn't feel like setting up a bunch of flashes to fix the issue, so I moved on. After loading my pictured up on on my computer, I began looking through them, and this picture grabbed my atttention right away. Since I shoot all my pictures in RAW, I have a lot of data to work with. I adjusted the highlights and white sliders, and was able to completely correct the overexposed areas, leaving a shine which defined the shape and kept all the wonderful details of this pretty and unusual bead.
10-Week Picture Projects now has over 240 members and each week we've gotten over 100 submissions to enjoy. Great fun, great talent, and easy to participate in because your picture can be from your archives or current. This can be a nice way to showcase a picture from the past that screams a certain color! :)
