3 more pictures in notes above!

Today I decided to walk to the top of our ridge and see what things looked like up there. It's very dry right now with nothing new growing, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to take pictures of. With a macro lens, a dreary land is full of wonderful images to find! Dead leaves and plants, berries and seeds are just a few cool things to photograph, and I found so many wonderful subjects that I had to force myself to stop taking pictures! :D

This Picture of the Day features a Poison Oak berry with part of its husk coming off, exposing the ripe, seed-filled berry inside. This is not a berry you want to eat though, but it sure is pretty!

George MacDonald (10 December 1824 – 18 September 1905) was a Scottish author, poet, and Christian minister. Wikipedia: George MacDonald

I really like the way you've composed this.........and kept the focus on the stalk as well........I find the stalk then leads the eye nicely to the main subject - that beautiful berry. Crisp and sharp as always with gorgeous warm autumnal colours.

The lighting in this shot is magical. What an unusual effect with the pod peeling. Needless to say, the quote fits perfectly. Seen in www.ipernity.com/group/prime-lenses.

Janet, I can appreciate the effort/time you have had to and will continue to give to this project. I tackled a 365 project and while I am generally please with it, it was done before I really knew what I was doing. lol your research prior to beginning this project has really paid off ... lovely images indeed. Bravo
