MY HOT ROD

MY HOT ROD

This is my hot rod. It's a 1950 Ford DeLuxe Club Coupe that I installed a late model Ford 5.0 litre motor (302 cu.in.) a Ford AOD transmission (automatic overdrive) heavy duty front sway bar, Ford Granada spindles with disc brakes in the front end and lowered the car about 3 1/2 inches all around. It has wide whitewall radial tires on all four corners. In the hot rod world it would be called a 'sleeper' -- looks stock but when I put the pedal to the metal, it surprises a few people on the freeway. Ya' gotta' relive your youth somehow!! An old phrase from the past "It's got four on the floor and a fifth under the seat! Photographed in Victoria BC Canada

Василий Касимовский, Christina Sonnenschein, Kevin Curtis, Tim Hanko and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Too much, a high school buddy had one these(stock) that was used in a number of questionable episodes.

My father and my second eldest brother (then about 6) went to Windsor to take delivery of a new 1950 Ford two-door sedan which they then drove back to Alberta. In the summer of 1954 my parents, grandmother and four kids drove to Toronto. I was coming 4 and by all reports stood up behind my dad most of the way. Whenever I see one of these I cannot imagine how we ever made it. As noted by others above I am also a fan of resto-rods. The work is beyond my capability but I certainly appreciate it.
