Eastern Rosella drunk outside the window

Eastern Rosella drunk outside the window
He appeared outside my office window where I was attracted by his stillness and bright colours. I didn't see the grubby face (see other pic below) until processing the photos, but the wings were brighter than any Eastern Rosella I've seen. I originally thought it was a young bird just got fresh colours and which has been feasting in some unmentionable mess of blackberries or plums -- 'young' because it stayed there for quite a long time without moving, in the way young birds sometimes do, and adults rarely. But thinking again, and perhaps more likely, it had been gorging on rotten (fermented) fruit and was drunk.

His face was not one for the family album.
