Frenchman Lake, a reservoir on Little Last Chance Creek, one of several reservoirs in the headwaters of the Middle Fork of the Feather River, California. It refilled to the point of overflowing because of the extraordinary water season. It's no longer overflowing the spillway, but it's right at the brim. The inset shows the view in February 2016, during the drought. Note the flooded bushes on the left are recognizable at the upper edge of the snow patch in that pic. There's still a bit of snow on the highest elevations in the distance, but with temperatures >90 F (32 C) it's not going to last!

A lovely scene, Steve, and the water has brought a remarkable change in appearance.

Interesting contrasts and thanks for posting them. How much is it normally drawn down by February -- typically none?

I expect it should be filling again in a typical February. The maximum draw-down should be late fall or so, before the winter storms start.
