Kelso Dunes

Kelso Dunes
A dune field in the Mojave National Preserve, California, in the middle of the Mojave Desert. It's about 10 miles from the tiny (and nearly extinct) railroad town of Kelso on the Union Pacific Railroad. The area is all wilderness now, so is off-limits to dune buggies and the like.

Off limits depends on the effectiveness of policing. Over here, most areas are banned to off roaders, but every weekend they sre still out there churning up the countryside.

Thanks, everyone! There's also a designated OHV (off-highway vehicle) area in the vicinity, so that probably helps keep the unauthorized traffic down.
