Australian shepherd for scale...

Australian shepherd for scale...
Jack standing on a granite outcrop full of mafic inclusions, which are distributed in bands and pods thru the host rock. I've been known to use the title phrase when giving a geology talk that includes my dog! Sierra Nevada, California, USA

Gloucester, a Bottled Spider
Gloucester, a Bottle…
At first I thought Jack was for sale!

Did I ever mention that when I was a kid we had an Australian Shepard named Brisbane? [When my father was in the Navy his favorite Australian town was Brisbane.] I had posted a couple of pictures of him back on flickr. He was mostly silver and white and had a tail. He was very sensitive about his tail. Friendly as can be otherwise but he couldn't stand someone touching his tail.

I thought it was a nice change from showing scale with rock hammers or boot tips! ;)

Maybe Brisbane knew what usually happened to Aussies' tails! ;) Our red tri has a long tail, too.
