...generally speaking, my friends don't put big charges on my credit card. They also don't try to convince me I should spend $4000 on a bridge:-(( I broke a tooth while eating popcorn. The popcorn wasn't even all that good, sadly.

Ouch! Sorry to hear this Marilyn. I think the propaganda leaflet should be titled 'My Dentist, My Pain Giving Freak in a Mask'. I absolutely hate the dentist almost as much as I hate spiders.

It's really too bad because our dentist seems like he might be a nice, interesting fellow but it's hard to see that when he's doing stuff like holding dry ice against my tooth to see if it has any life left in it:-((

LOL! Oh dear! I'm sorry for you Marilyn! I hate when big dental expenses come up - I just had a root canal done earlier this year. Generally I don't feel a lot of pain while there, but the freezing is annoying until it comes out.

Fran, sorry about your root canal. Dental work is so expensive these days. Our dentist is really good about using extra Procaine on us so the pain is mostly felt when I get our bank statement:-))

Well, I didn't like having the root canal, but I did like getting the full use of that tooth back again. Since I crunched down on a bit of cereal a few months earlier, I had been eating from the other side of my mouth with the odd painful chomp when I forgot. I had seen the dentist soon after it happened and he thought it might get better without intervention so he suggested waiting a few weeks to give it a chance. I stretched that few weeks out a little longer but finally had to give in and book the root canal.
