Portrait of a Young Girl

Portrait of a Young Girl
Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: PEOPLE LOOKING RIGHT AT YOU
This is a beautifully done Cabinet Card, with soft tones and beautiful lighting. Her expression is unreadable, I think. It could be interpreted as pensive, sad, fed-up, curious, slightly sulky, or ...? I think it's possible that she's a redhead.
The address of the studio printed on the back is: 56 N Eighth St. and 1937 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia.
The name of the Studio is (I think) Louis B. Taub. I'm guessing this was taken in the 1880s.

Alan - do you have any images from this studio?

Thanks to Alan, the photographer's name has been revealed as Louis Blaul.

, Smiley Derleth, Phil Sutters and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Hi Deborah, that's a great photo, and I like your observation about the various interpretations of the girl's mood.

The lettering makes it difficult to see, but the photographer's name is actually Louis Blaul. I have two photos by Blaul that I've posted here on Ipernity. One is a cabinet card, Baby on a Swing, Philadelphia, Pa. (and its backmark: Louis Blaul, Portraits in Crayon and Pastel, Philadelphia, Pa.), and the other on is a real photo postcard, Louis and Henry Standing on a Chair.
