Anna de La Grange (1825-1905); French Soprano. She made her debut in 1842 at Piacenza in Mercadente's "Il Bravo". She was a pupil and protegée of Rossini. She sang at the American première of Verdi's "La Traviata" in New York's Academy of Music (1856).
The dedication was made to Mademoiselle (Jeanne) de Pierris, who was a pupil of the soprano Caroline Duprez-Van den Heuvel.
