Carrie Goldsticker-Lissner by Müller
Carrie Goldsticker-Lissner (1851-1914); German contralto.
She started her career with the 1877/78 season at the “Stadttheater von Nürnberg”. From 1878 until 1883 she was engaged at the “Hoftheater von Karlsruhe” and the season 1884/85 at the “Opernhaus von Köln”. The season 1885/86 she sang at the “Metropolitan Opera” in New York, but within the year she returned to Germany. From 1886 until 1889 she was engaged at the “Stadttheater von Halle” and she ended her career at the German Opera in Rotterdam. She made guest appearances at Mannheim (1882), Frankfurt a.M. (1883) and since 1886 very often at the “Opernhaus von Leipzig”. Her most memorable roles were Donna Elvira in “Don Giovanni”, Azucena in “Il Trovatore”, Ortrud in “Lohengrin” and Fricka and Waltraute in the “Ring des Nibelungen”.
