Success!

Success!
It took me about 9 days, but Fuggles is now safe in my custody again. Her owner is on vacation for another day or two, so she will stay in one of my rescue cat rooms until her owner returns.

Fuggles still has that feral cat instinct to hide but she is very handleable. She meows at me and lets me cuddle her. She also tends to gravitate toward the window - towards outdoors and in her mind safety. To her, this is a strange house with strange cat smells and an unknown person so she would rather leave.

She is already more comfortable this morning and looking more relaxed. She ate some food during the night so I know she isn't too upset, though she is a bit thin so she probably was very hungry.

I caught her about 11:15 last night and I used chicken for bait. The previous night I used chicken and she was very interested but wouldn't go into the trap. Though I have a lot of experience trapping cats, I sometimes forget the little things that make trapping easier like laying a trail of crumbs from outside the trap to the bait inside. I remembered to do that last night and maybe it helped. Once they get a bite or two, they tend to lose some of the inhibitions that might keep them out of the trap. However, every cat is different and I can't say this always works. I'm just glad I got her.

Isn't she a pretty one?! Sweet little face. I hope her family appreciates what you have
done and will be more vigilant in the future. Some cats will try to sneak
outdoors in a heartbeat.
Great work, Fran. Good work by the chicken, too. ;-)

Well done with another successful trapping, Fran. Too bad it had to happen so late in the evening, but you must be happy to have her in your house for now. She does have a very pretty face.

Well done on your perseverance and good work. This cat really owes you her life. She's lovely, and maybe, hopefully, this time she'll appreciate the indoors a lot more and not escape at the next opportunity.
