...of a bracket clock movement (only partly assembled), showing the very nicely turned pillars that hold the front and back plates together.
Timepiece only with 'pull repeat' for quarters and hours. Verge escapement.
I had just made and fitted a new contrate wheel. As the verge escape wheel runs at 90° to the rest of the gear train, the contrate wheel is used to change the angle.
The clock was made by D. Threlkeld of Newcastle (upon Tyne) in the early part of the 1700's.
