A Little Scared

A Little Scared
I keep trying to sneak up on her, and get a pic with a ruler next to her. Getting close to her is difficult enough, but she reckons the ruler is one of the most frightening things she has ever seen!

Stand a yard stick up against the wall where she can check it out. When she realizes it won't hurt her she just might sit next to it for a photo.
Love her big eyes

What part of the world you live in!
I haven't heard mention of, or seen a yardstick in about 50 years! Totally forgot about them.
Metal 12" ruler best I can do except for 5 meter tape- which they both run from.

What? No yardsticks? I have two of them, a metal one, and a wooden one...but it got broke in half while trying to rescue a fake mouse from under a cabinet.

Must have been a tough mouse!
One can get metal meter long rules, but 'meterstick' just doesn't sound right. I grew up with yardsticks...

No, it was just a tiny stuffed mouse...I got the yardstick stuck under the cabinet and twisted it too hard. They tried to force the metric system down our throats back in the 1980's but it never took hold on us and they finally let off about it. I'm sure it's a good system and easier to calculate since it's based on 10's, but I don't want it because I'd have trouble conceptualizing the differences from the new to the old system, and I don't want to have to deal with it.

It's all a big mess here. Road signs are in miles. Car speedo's are both miles and kilometers per hour. We still have pints for milk and beer, but fuel etc is in litres. Timber is inches for thickness and width, but meters in length!
I have always been using both systems for my work.

Leave a ruler next to where she sleeps. If it's already there rather than having it sneaking up on her, maybe she'll ignore it?
