A Gloomy Day...

A Gloomy Day...
....the day I took this one. Those are large flights of Greylag geese in the lighter bit of sky. They aren't coming or going- they just fly about for a while to keep in practice. They used to be migratory and only stop on the islands for a week or two. Now the climate is buggered, there isn't much point flying the Atlantic for conditions not much different from here.
They have been breeding here for at least the last 10 years.

Same with Canada Geese in the northeastern US. They used to fly north to Canada for the summer and south (to Florida?) for the winter, stopping over here during their migration. Now, many of them stay here year-round.
