Fongers bicycle advertisements

Fongers started in 1884 with the production of bicycles. The company was sold in 1960 to another bicycle company. Fongers was known for producing high-quality bicycles with corresponding prices. These ads are from 1914.

English translation: Who buys a Fongers, will receive value for money. "The construction of Fongers bicycles is simple and . Form and measurements are such like, that, also because of the useage of suitable material, a very high solidity is achieved, where the Fongers bicycles thank their known longevity for a great part." The Groningen [province in the Netherlands] Bicycle Company A. Fongers. The form of the frame of Fongers bicycles and the angle of the fork, in relation to the bend of it, make that they are lightly steerable and also bounce and shake very little on bad roads. A bad road becomes good on a Fongers." The English is perhaps a little akward, but so is the original Dutch.
