Mandemakersteeg (Basket-Makers Alley) in Leiden

This alley is an important connection between two shopping streets in Leiden. Because this is not a hip-and-happening alley and it shows some dereliction, it and the whole area has to be developed. Several plans were put forward and one plan was agreed upon after some kind of referendum. That was a couple of years ago, but nothing has happened because the City Council made some very big mistakes (at the expense of the tax payer). Now new efforts are put in, so this alley might disappear in this form soon.
