Hello fellow Ipernity 12 month for dogs, members :) Decided to take part in the group both here and on Flickr this year. Lets see how this goes :)

For everyone in the group who doesn't know Missy she's an 11 year old JRT x Yorkie. A true terrier in every way. She's a joy and a challenge, but I love her to bits and wouldn't be without her. She adores people and always gets a lot of attention from strangers and visitors alike as she'll go out of her way to meet someone new. But she's Dog Aggressive and even though I've worked with her for years, we saw a behaviourist and I have a real understanding of her behaviour these days, it will always be a case of managing her more then expecting a "fix". She has so many great qualities though that her DA really is not the focus of her temperament/behaviour. She has a zest for life that only a terrier owner will know what I'm talking about ;) She's happy, affectionate, bubbly, intelligent and very much a "busy bee", always on the go when out, tail never stops wagging, investigating everything. She's taught me a lot and I hope I am a better dog owner because of her.

She's adorable. It's not that unusual for terriers to be dog aggressive, at least over here in the US, where they are rarely used as real terriers but still have the same personalities and drives. It's great that you at least put in effort to work on it, and understand her behaviors and know how to act, instead of taking her out in public on a flexi lead like most of the people do here.... I LOVE watching terriers work, they aren't something that I think I would own but they're fascinating.

Thanks. I do walk her on a Flexi when she can't come off lead. But in really private areas I do allow her off lead. You learn to have eyes in the back of your head! lol. She would have made a great working dog, but sadly isn't.

Hello, Missy and Louise! I love her "I'M HERE!" terrier stance, letting the world know that she is a force to be reckoned with! There's a terrier about her size in our new agility class who has the real terrier temperament - they are so much bigger than life!
