Well hello there!

Well hello there!
I was at a dinner party recently talking about my Blythes and one of the women who was a new friend of mine at the party said "I had one of those when I was a child"!! After showing her my photo's on my phone we confirmed that she had had a Kenner! She said she would ask her folks in Australia if they still had her in the cellar - but sadly texted me in the morning saying she though they had given her away :-O but a few hours later she texted me back saying they had found her and were posting her over to the UK! She was very excited to find she had a valuable doll and I agreed to restore the doll and sell her for her.
Well when she arrived I was not so impressed as her hair was thick and matted and in a scraggy pigtail at the back and I really did not bond with her in any way - "good" I thought, as I had just bought Daisy and could not afford another Blythe let alone another Kenner.
But as I started to restore her by first cleaning her face (which then glowed as they do!) and by sorting out her hair (many, many conditioning treatments and a haircut) I started to love her. I felt torn as I she was not 'mine' and I could not afford her as my new friend who owned her wanted a fair price for her.
But! She decided that as she had loved her so much as a child (She called her Penelope) that she wanted me to have her, and would let me pay her over a whole year!
So Penelope ended up staying with me, and I am so glad! I have saved half the money already and really just can't believe my luck that another Kenner kind of fell into my lap!
