mumok (2) - 25 August 2017

The exterior of Vienna's mumok (Museum Moderner Kunst), if a little stark, is at least of some architectural merit. The interior too is of interest but would not be out of place in a prison. The contents, however, possess the unenviable ability to reinforce every negative stereotype of modern art. The exhibits sit on a scale from worthless to mystifying but present only mysteries that no-one would want to solve and the curation does nothing to elevate any of these.
