End of the Road

End of the Road
Photo taken for A Treasure Hunt # Dead End.

This dead end, and several others, were created when a Fred Meyer store was built across the way. Neighbors didn't want store traffic going through their residential neighborhood. From where I live it makes it a bit inconvenient to drive there, so I usually just walk. See in notes another one of the dead ends. This one shows more street, but has no sign.

Applied Ribbet's pencil sketch effect to both shots.

Well at least the planners paid attention to your 'local consultation'. Over here it's just an excuse and a formality to get out of the way before they do what they were gonna do all along. sigh.
Too much processing for my likings, but I get the idea

I have to agree with Rob. I know the processing helped reduce the eye-confusion created by a flood of color, but a simple black-and-white rendition might have served the scene better.

I tried a variety of different effects, I liked this one best. Sorry you don't. Here is a straight b&w conversion. I'll let the group decide which they like best.

I like your sketch processing, but perhaps with a little more contrast to add depth to the "picture"
