Dusk Bandit

Dusk Bandit
On my way home from doing the food shopping when I spotted this fella crossing the road. I quickly drove home...obeying the speed limits of course...and grabbed my camera, not really expecting it to still be around...

It was around 9 at night and quickly getting dark, so I was lucky to have gotten these.
All shots are uncropped.
Explored.

It was getting dark and I didn't think I would manage any shots...then the streetlights came on. Thank-you Thomas Edison.

Risking life and limb, I dared to cross the street and get closer. S/he was fine with that.

Of all the shots this is the only one that shows its teeth. Fierce little things they are.

Good job going and getting the camera...it paid off! Some nice shots of this critter. We had one on our back porch a few days ago, the cats were beside themselves :)

Oh yes, they drive my girls crazy at times. It seems my backyard is right in their travel path.

I thought: how cute. But then I saw the fangs! :) Well spotted and great series, Jim.

Thank-you Levina! Normally I would give them a very wide berth, but I couldn't pass up the chance.

Considered pests up here. Very large population even downtown Toronto...kinda like New York's rat problem. I find them very interesting to watch, especially tearing into the garbage containers.

I'm glad for you that you found it again when you had your camera! You got some great shots of it. From your main posted shot I would not have guessed that it was so late in the evening. We get dark around 10:30 (except on cloudy days like today). I sure love the longer days that come with summertime.
