Eyeing the goslings.

Eyeing the goslings.
Don't know if gulls would harm goslings, but whenever one tried to land on the grass the adult geese would quickly run them off. Usually gull and goose can be found side by side on the grass. They kinda have a predatory look to them in this shot.

One of the reasons I like harbours so much, is because of the gulls. I don't know if they would go after goslings, but I wouldn't hold it against them. This is a nice series, Jim. I especially like the first shot. There's just something about the composition that I like very much.

Thank-you Levina! This Bay is a great place for gulls and geese and sometimes swans. The Lake proper is just a 10 minute walk south, but I prefer this little park since it's not nearly as busy as the boardwalk and beach.

I'm pretty sure gulls will take anything they can get their beaks round! They're not the most fussy eaters. Glad to hear the parent geese are keeping an attentive watch on them.

LOL! Your first models are jealous! I love how they line up on those posts though!

Yes the gulls will kill and eat the young geese. They kill rabbits and all other birds smaller than them. Guls tend to be quite nasty birds.

Yes, they kill and eat bunnies as well- gulls will kill and eat anything. And eat anything found dead.
A snipe stands about 6 or so inches high- I have seen a Herring Gull swallow one whole and still alive.
Birds are horrible animals. You ought to see what crows and ravens do to lambing ewes...

Mice are fine, but leave the bunnies and lambs alone.
