Twenty-Three Medicine Boats Will Surely Be Enough

Twenty-Three Medicine Boats Will Surely Be Enough
NLJ visited today. It has been so long since our last one to one visit. Both of us have had such busy-bee schedules. We made the most of our time together, that's for sure. I have an unusual sink in my bathroom. It is like a big white bowl that sits on top of a granite counter. There is no safety drain so there is also no built in plug. I got a suction plug that does the job but you have to be very careful not to leave it in the sink and turn on the water and walk away. Yikes!

When NLJ said she wanted to wash her hands (which is code for playing in the water) we went to it right away. She saw some white plastic medicine cups off to the side on the counter. They fit into a device a boss/co-worker gave to me a few years ago during a point in my life similar to the one I am in now. The device is called First Crush and is an electric pill crusher. NLJ reached for them and fell off the chair and had a boom boom. After we made sure we were all okay and still whole, and dabbed away the tears (something she truly finds comforting), she got back in the saddle and did what she had originally intended to do: float them. It appeared that she was not entirely sure what they would do because she looked at me with great excitement after she put the first one on top of the water. There were only two. "Do you want another one?" "Oh yes."

We ended up with twenty-three little white boats into which she later carefully put spiral copper paper clips that the FS use to have in her home office. It was a lovely, healing sight to see for sure when this temporary art project was all done.

Ethan John, Don Conner have particularly liked this photo
