Do the Mashed Potato With Me-ee

Do the Mashed Potato With Me-ee
NLJ is coming over in awhile and these mashed potatoes are waiting for her along with some gravy with madeira and herbes de provence (one of my old time speci-a-li-ties). The potatoes were grown up north near Arlington and delivered by the Great Aunt Cathy via the kids.

The boiled water had one chopped garlic clove, a slice of lemon, and ground sea salt. I may not have cooked the potato long enough but it is worse to over cook them. Since I haven't made them in eons (at least not real ones), I am easily forgiving myself for this (possible) culinary error.

The cooked potato was put in a pre-heated stainless steel mixer bowl along with two tablespoons softened butter and four tablespoons of heavy cream. A little ground salt was added along with just a tiny bit of ground five peppercorn mix. A little over a teaspoon of brie was added (everything about this was miniature to fit the Miniature Human audience). I also included two pieces of the chopped garlic in with the potato mixture before whirling the dickens out of it.

Notice the still-to-be-French-fried potato gleaming next to the bowl. The Great Aunt mentioned to me that the potatoes really pop when you get them wet so I gave it a try. Beautiful.

Soon we'll see if the babby likes them or not.

Who knows what is happening? My photographs in many cases lately are inexplicably straight level shots. This was not adjusted except to increase vibrancy one notch.

I hate to say this, but we could not convince her to eat hardly any of these. Cori thought this was a completely travesty because we both loved them so much. We are thinking of hosting a larger holiday event this year and are wondering if you would make them again for a larger group? Maybe Nora would try them this time. Usually you have to put something in front of her a few times before she dives in.

Oh I would be happy to make mashed potatoes. Just on Thanksgiving :). But I had thought that even though she didn't eat much of them that she seemed to like them a bit and licked the spoon. No matter. I agree eventually she will love them since her family loves them.
