Royal Pavilion Brighton

Royal Pavilion Brighton
As the official website says, this is..."an extraordinary and extravagant pleasure palace.Built for the Prince Regent, later King George IV, in stages between 1787 and 1823, the Royal Pavilion is remarkable for its exotic oriental appearance both inside and out."

George IV was an arrogant oaf, the worse kind of example of hereditary monarchy, but the Pavilion, largely the work of architect John Nash, is a pretty spectacular piece of work.
