But I'm maybe both you and Tom K below have got it right - this does look like it could be an Entwife. And so the long mystery is solved- they moved to South Africa from Middle Earth

Talk about 5 degrees of separation :) I'd never have got from dark tree to sarong in 3 moves. JRR Tolkien was born here in South Africa so it'd make sense that the ent-wives took an extended safari holiday.
