Goin' Steady

Faron Young's "Goin' Steady" (Faron Young) peaked at number two on the Country chart in 1952. The original single heard here was Faron's first hit and a cut on the album "This Is Faron Young". Faron was a co-founder of the magazine Music City News. Wikipedia: "Though new country acts including BR549 were putting his music before new audiences in the mid-1990s, Young apparently felt the music industry had mostly rejected him.A combination of that particular theory and despondency over his deteriorating health were cited as possible reasons that Young shot himself on December 9, 1996. He died in Nashville the following day and was cremated. His ashes were spread by his family over Old Hickory Lake outside Nashville at Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash's home while the Cashes were away"

Teen idol singer and actor Tommy Sands' first album "Steady Date With Tommy Sands" opened with "Goin' Steady". The single peaked at number sixteen in 1957. Tommy was once married to Nancy Sinatra.
