Ballad of Paladin
The television show "Have Gun, Will Travel" started in 1957 and featured close to 25 episodes written by Gene Roddenberey of "Star Trek" fame while being directed by the likes of Ida Lupino, William Conrad and Sam Peckinpah. The program used a closing theme written and sung by Johnny Western (Johnny Western, star Richard Boone and program creator Sam Rolfe).
Duane Eddy was a guest star on the successful television show and his "Ballad of Paladin" made the top thirty in the U.S. and top ten in the U.K. in 1962. After leaving the Jamie label this was one of his first RCA releases. It was produced by Lee Hazlewood and featured Earl Palmer on drums.
