Funny Familiar Forgotten Feelings

In 1966 Don Gibson became the first to record "Funny, Familiar, Forgotten Feelings" (Newberry) and reached the top ten of the Country charts. This is from the album "More Country Soul". Most unusual for Don not to have written one of his hits.

"Funny, Familiar, Forgotten Feelings" can be found on Mickey (Milton) Newberry's 1968 debut album "Harlequin Melodies" produced by Felton Jarvis. For the most part Mickey loathed the album.

The Sir Tom Jones (Woodward) cover of "Funny, Familiar, Forgotten Feelings" was released within two months of the Don Gibson single and is from the album "Green, Green Grass of Home. The single peaked in the Billboard top fifty but did much better in the U.K. and Europe reaching the top ten.
