Percolator (Twist)

Maxwell House Coffee had a television commercial in the early sixties and it featured the sound of a coffee percolator. Both the commercial and the hit were "good to the last drop".

Louis Bideu (Lewis Joseph Bedinsky) was known as Louis Bideu and as Billy Joe Hunter of Billy Joe and the Checkmates "Percolator (Twist)" (Bideu - Freeman) fame. The word "twist" was added after the initial release for commercial purposes only! The tune hit the top ten in 1962. Lew co-founded both the Doré and Era record labels and was married to Ethel, the daughter of John Barrymore.
