Walkin' My Baby Back Home
The Broadway Syncopators featuring the vocals of Irving Kaufman were first to record "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" (Fred E. Ahlert, Roy Turk) on the Madison label in 1930, the same year it was written.
In 1951 Nat "King" Cole released "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" and reached the top ten. Billy May is responsible for the arrangement. The song is also on the Natalie Cole 2008 album digitally recorded with her father's voice "Still Unforgettable".
Johnnie Ray's "Walkin' My Baby Back Home" charted in 1952 and peaked in the top five. The next year it was the title to a Donald O'Connor movie.
