The old Queens head.. Sheffield.

The old Queens head.. Sheffield.
Now totally dominated by a near complete modern structure...''The Old Queen's Head'' is a public house on Pond Hill in the City of Sheffield.. that occupies the oldest domestic building in the city. This timber framed building is thought to date from c.1475, although the earliest known written record of it is in an inventory compiled in 1582 of the estate of George Talbot, the 6th Earl of Shrewsbury.
Pip'.. is the completed building in the background.

It seems a shame to surround this old pub with such modern architecture. I do hope no-one's thinking of pulling it down.

Thanks Amelia'.... no it will never be demolished or altered on the exterior.. the building is unique and part of Sheffields' history... although newer extensions to the pub, are built to the rear ..
Cheers from Dj.
