THE SITE OF AN ANCIENT FORTIFIES INDIAN
VILLAGE.

A BATTERY OF TWO 64 POUND WROUGHT IRON
RIFLED GUNS STOOD HERE 1878-1892 FOR
THE PROTECTION AGAINST AN EXPECTED RUSSIAN
INVASION.
